I have always posed this questions to those who believe human made global warming exists and is the highest priority for America to conquer.
If it is decided science, why is further money needed to study man made global warming instead of spending 100% of available resources on solutions?
Until this questions is answered and all money is diverted to a solution call me a doubter of man made global warming.
I have never gotten a good answer, I get lots of mumbling, never thought of that, or other gibberish. This observation and the amount of money begin spent on global warming studies leads me to think it is all a big money grab. It might be that there is no man made solution. Since there is not a problem.
The reason I bring this up, is that in the 825 billion dollar (1.3 trillion after 10 years of interest on the loans for the funding is added) I have heard there is about 6 to 8 billion dollars to further study of man made climate change since global warming is no longer politically correct.
I did a quick search of HR1 on the PDF posted at the House web site and I have found the following just by searching on Climate.

24 by the National Academies Decadal Survey.
This is at least $390,000,000 for study that I can find. There is lots more about funding building improvements to allow for the study of science as well.

There’s a great deal of confusion over use of the phrase “settled science.” In the context of climate, it means that we’re sure global warming is happening and it’s due to human activity (specifically, increasing greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide in the atmosphere).
But the fact that those issues are settled does not mean that all the details are already known. We don’t know exactly how much the planet will warm in the next century. We also don’t know the details of how different regions will be affected; which will become drier (more susceptible to drought), which wetter (more susceptible to flooding). We’re not sure how rapidly sea level will rise in response to warming.
We also don’t know exactly how close we are to certain “tipping points.” For example, melting permafrost can release huge amounts of additional carbon dioxide and methane; how severe is that threat? Large methane deposits called “methane clathrates” — how vulnerable are they?
That’s why we need to spend money on climate research: not to ask the questions “is it happening” or “are we the cause” — those are settled — it’s so we know how fast, how severely, and precisely where, things can go to hell in a handbasket.

“Progressive” (communist) politicians like Obama seem determined to force us to swallow the man-made global warming scam. If not stopped, the global warming scam will enrich the scammers (Gore and Obama’ Wall Street friends), increase the power of the U.N. and communists like Obama, and multiply poverty and servitude for the rest of us.

Oh please! You are going to rely on a petition that has absoltely no measure of truth? I got onto the list by lying. It looks like anyone can. So how could you possibly believe a petition that has a high probability of being padded by the oil companies? That makes you a moron.
Just on the face of it consider: How can we pump out 300 billion TONs of carbon every year and NOT affect the climate? Stop being stupid and look at the facts. Or, alternatively, go stick your head in a hole in the sand and put a stick of dynamite into any orifice you choose and shut up!

states that the ice cores show that CO2 increases follow, lag warming trends not the way Gore and the UN states.
If it is settled science how can a different scientific opinion exist.
I do not hear any debate about the existence of Gravity and Friction anymore, I guess Newton was right that is settled science.
Also Copernicus and Galileo have settled science on the sun is the center of the galaxy not the earth. Contrary to the settled science of their time.

I don’t knwo where you got that “Volcanoes put more CO2 and methane into the air annually than man does” idea, but if it’s any indication of the accuracy of your information then it’s no wonder you have false beliefs about global warming.
Volcanoes emit about 200 megatons of CO2 annually. Human activity emits about 30 gigatons. 1 giga = 1000 mega.

Give me links to your facts about CO2 output. I am always interested in learning and keeping an open mind, evaluating facts and drawing my own conclusions.
The earths atmosphere is 5.15×10^18 Kg or 1.135×10^19 lb or 5.7×10^15 tons on wikipedia.
A gigaton is A unit of explosive force equal to that of one billion (10^9) tons of TNT. according to answers.com and freedictionary.com
Assuming you are using a gigaton to mean s 1×10^9 tons, 30 gigatons = 3×10^10 tons.
Based on your numbers (3×10^10)/(5.7×10^15) = 5.26×10^-6. Humans are adding 0.000526% mass to the atmosphere by converting that mass from solid or liquid carbon per year. It will take 1000 years for man to add 0.5% to the atmospheric mass from the solid or liquid CO2 which is being used.
Here is a realistic assessment of how the earth recycles CO2.

Man may be having some effect but it is so infinitesimal that it can’t be measured in one humans lifetime.
